Le Somail  that lies on the "Canal du Midi"  in the Cathar country, well known for its impressive and rich past, is an ideal starting point for visiting the numerous sights of cultural and historical interest, like the medieval city of Carcassonne, the abbeys of Fontfroide and Lagrasse, the Cathar castles of Peyrepertuse, Quéribus and Montségur, the fortified village Minerve and the Minervois region, Narbonne and the coast, the Corbière region, the Pyrenees, etc.  "Le Neptune", a vinters-masterhouse built in 1870, has been refurnished with love and respect, retaining the historic character of the house.  All of the 5 comfortable bedrooms have bathroom and view on the Canal.
